ETQAAN Chairman Announces Full Alignment Between Accreditation Standards and Relevant ISO Specifications.

The Egyptian TVET for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN) held a workshop to present and discuss the results of studies verifying the alignment between the Authority’s accreditation standards and the relevant ISO specifications for technical and technological education, vocational training, and quality assurance. The studies were conducted by a committee of specialized experts.

The workshop was attended by Major General Dr. Amr Bosela, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Unit for Operating and Managing Applied Technology Schools at the Ministry of Education and Technical Education; Major General Ihab Abdullah Ramadan, Head of the Productivity and Vocational Training Authority at the Ministry of Industry; and members of the national committees responsible for setting accreditation standards for programs and institutions of technical and technological education, and vocational training.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Chairman of ETQAAN, announced the results of the studies, confirming a 100% alignment between the accreditation standards for programs and institutions of technical and technological education, and vocational training issued by the Authority, and the relevant ISO standards for education, training, and quality assurance:

  • ISO 21001:2025, ISO 29993:2017, ISO 29994:2021, ISO 29992:2018

The experts presented reports demonstrating that, after the preparation of the national standards by the national committees—guided by international standards including EU standards and ISO specifications in education, training, and quality assurance—a detailed benchmarking study was conducted comparing the national standards with international standards. The results showed complete compatibility and alignment between the Egyptian standards and global standards.

Dr. Emarah emphasized that this step is a pioneering move toward international recognition, marking the first time in Egypt that an integrated quality system for technical and technological education and vocational training institutions and programs has been established. This ensures that educational and training programs are aligned with international standards, enhancing graduates’ opportunities to integrate into regional and international labor markets and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional hub for technical and technological education and vocational training. This aligns with the ongoing efforts of the political leadership and the Egyptian government to develop the technical and vocational education and training system in line with Egypt Vision 2030, focused on building human capital, achieving sustainable development, and enhancing national economic competitiveness.
