The Egyptian TVET for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN), under the auspices of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, launched the Egyptian accreditation standards for institutions and programs of technical and technological education and vocational training.
ead of ETQAAN: “The Egyptian accreditation standards are the result of active effort and fruitful cooperation that embodied the true spirit of partnership among all stakeholders, and mark the beginning of a new era in which we all join forces—ministries and authorities alike—to ensure the quality of technical and technological education and vocational training in Egypt. An era founded on quality, transparency, and partnership, and a unified framework that brings all efforts together under one umbrella to achieve the political leadership’s vision for sustainable development and the building of the Egyptian citizen”.
The Egyptian TVET for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN), under the auspices of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, launched the Egyptian accreditation standards for institutions and programs of technical and technological education and vocational training. The Chairman of ETQAAN stated that the establishment of ETQAAN came in implementation of the recommendations of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in his closing address at the Sixth National Youth Conference, held at Cairo University in 2018.
The launch event was honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Mohamed Gobran, Minister of Labor; Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo; Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Geyoushi, Secretary of the Supreme Council for Technological Education and former Deputy Minister of Education, representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Major General Dr. Amr Bosela, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Unit for Operating and Managing Applied Technology Schools; Dr. Amani Qorani, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools at the Ministry of Education and Technical Education; Dr. Abdullah El-Batish, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, representing the Minister of Youth and Sports; Dr. Pilvi Torsti, Director of the European Training Foundation (ETF); Major General Ihab Abdullah, Head of the Productivity and Vocational Training Authority at the Ministry of Industry; Major General Mohamed Hassan El-Ezaby, Director of the Department of Education and Vocational Training at the Armed Forces, representing the Minister of Defense and Military Production; Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din Ashmawy, Chairman of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education; Prof. Dr. Gouda Ghanem, Head of the Education Sector and Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Institutes at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and Dr. Mohamed Helmy Helal, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Energy Efficiency Engineers, along with representatives of the Supreme Council of Universities.
Also in attendance were Mrs. Ahlam Farouk, Director of Education and Technical Education Programs at the Delegation of the European Union; Mr. Pasqualino Mare and Mr. Mounir Baati from the European Training Foundation; representatives of the TCTI Project and the EPP Project funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ); representatives of international development partners; experts in technical and technological education and vocational training; members of the national committees responsible for developing accreditation standards for programs and institutions of technical and technological education, technical education, and vocational training; a number of presidents of technological universities and deans of technological colleges; Egyptian business leaders; representatives of civil society organizations; and members of the Board of Directors of ETQAAN.
