ETQAAN Authority and the General Authority for Health Insurance Discuss Strengthening Cooperation to Promote a Culture of Quality and Prepare Nursing Institutions for Accreditation

 part of the ongoing cooperation between the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN) and the General Authority for Health Insurance, a meeting was held at ETQAAN Authority’s headquarters to explore avenues for joint cooperation in delivering specialized training program for staff of the educational and training institutions affiliated to the General Authority for Health Insurance. The discussions focused on institutional and program accreditation, the qualification of external reviewers in the nursing sector, then presented the requirements and procedures for institutions affiliated to the General Authority for Health Insurance to apply for accreditation in accordance with the standards approved by ETQAAN Authority. These efforts aim to enhance the performance of institutions and programs as well as improve the quality of educational and training services.

                        The meeting was attended by Dr Faten Emarah, Director General of the Training Department, representing the chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance; Dr Hadeer Hussein, Technical Education Officer; and Dr Ahmed Abu Zeid, Deputy Director of 6th of October Central Hospital, representing the General Authority for Health Insurance. Representing ETQAAN Authority were Prof. Dr Ibrahim Fares, Vice President for Technical and Technological Education, and Dr Eman El Shafie, Director General of the Office of the chairman.

                     The two sides discussed mechanisms for cooperation during the coming period to support the dissemination of the culture of quality and accreditation across Health Insurance institutions throughout Egypt.

                    During the meeting, Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of ETQAAN Authority, emphasized that cooperation with the General Authority for Health Insurance reflects ETQAAN Authority’s commitment to expand institutional partnerships, capacity building, and promoting a culture of quality and accreditation. He noted that qualifying external reviewers and raising awareness of accreditation requirements represent important steps towards enhancing the quality of nursing institutions and programs, in line with Egypt’s vision for advancing technical and technological education.

                  At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain close coordination during the next phase and to establish implementation mechanisms for joint cooperation and training program. These efforts will support the readiness of institutions and programs for accreditation while enhancing the quality of technical and technological education outcomes in line with Egypt’s direction towards developing the TVET system.
