ETQAAN Sets the Description of Acceptable Performance Levels for Meeting the Indicators of Accreditation Standards for Vocational Training Institutions
In a new step toward ensuring the quality of the vocational training centers system in line with the requirements of the local, regional, and international labor market, and contributing to the achievement of EGYPT sustainable development goals, the Egyptian for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN) held an expanded meeting for the Committee of Setting Accreditation Standards for Vocational Training Centers. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emara, Chairman of the Authority.
Members of the committee discussed the acceptable performance levels required to meet the indicators of accreditation standards for vocational training institutions, in a manner that ensures objectivity and transparency in the assessment process. Participants included representatives of the Ministry of Military Production; the Training and Vocational Education Department of the Egyptian Armed Forces; the Productivity and Vocational Training Department; the National Accreditation Council; the Technical Committee for Quality Management System Specifications for Educational Institutions at the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality under the Ministry of Industry; the Ministry of Labor; the Ministry of Social Solidarity; the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company – Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy; private vocational training centers; the Federation of Egyptian Industries; representatives of the private sector across various economic sectors; relevant civil society organizations; and quality assurance experts.
Participants commended the technical and organizational procedures adopted by the Authority in setting the standards in accordance with international best practices, based on needs analysis, preliminary studies, draft preparation, consultation, and discussion with all concerned stakeholders. They also praised the Authority’s attention to feedback and technical reviews, within an environment characterized by transparency and integrity, and the avoidance of any conflicts of interest that could affect the quality of the standards.
