“ETQAAN Sets the Accreditation Standards for Vocational Training Centers”
a new step toward ensuring the quality of the vocational training centers system in line with the requirements of the local, regional, and international labor markets, and in support of the State’s sustainable development goals, the Egyptian Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Technical and Technological Education and Vocational Training (ETQAAN) held an expanded meeting of the committee responsible for developing accreditation standards for vocational training centers. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Chairman of the Authority.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara led the meeting of the committee for setting accreditation standards for vocational training centers, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, in addition to representatives of the Productivity and Vocational Training Authority, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and the technical committees of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of private sector companies and civil society institutions, quality assurance experts from Egyptian universities with close engagement in vocational training centers, as well as representatives of the TCTI Project, funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The meeting reviewed the best international experiences in the field of the accreditation of vocational training centers and discussed proposed accreditation standards and assessment criteria related to the vocational centers, to ensure objectivity and transparency in the assessment process.
