ith the participation of international experts from the European Training Foundation (ETF), ETQAAN Authority will hold a workshop tomorrow, Wednesday, 3 December 2025, entitled: “The European Quality Assurance Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) and Indicators for Measuring the Quality of the Technical and Technological Education and Vocational Training System in Egypt.”
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Chairman of ETQAAN, stated to Al-Gomhuria newspaper that ETQAAN, in cooperation with the European Training Foundation (ETF), will organize the workshop “The European Quality Assurance Framework for Technical and Technological Education and Vocational Training (EQAVET) and Quality Indicators of the TVET System in Egypt” on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. The workshop will be attended by international and Egyptian experts specializing in technical and technological education and vocational training, as well as representatives of the national committees responsible for developing accreditation standards for TVET programs and institutions from all relevant ministries, authorities, and entities.
The importance of the European Quality Assurance Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) lies in the fact that it represents a leading model that has proven successful over many years in European Union countries since its launch in 2009, and its reaffirmation on 24 November 2020 in support of sustainable competitiveness, social fairness, and resilience. The framework’s indicators help assess vocational education and training systems and provide stakeholders with information about system performance, as they constitute structured, clearly defined key measures that enhance quality assurance, support the internationalization of quality assurance practices, and improve comparability among countries.
The workshop aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of the importance of having quality indicators for measuring the TVET system in Egypt, as well as the indicators of the European Quality Assurance Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET). It will also discuss the extent of their suitability to the unique Egyptian context and their alignment with ETQAAN’s efforts to set and develop national indicators for measuring the quality of the TVET system in Egypt, in a manner that serves national priorities and reflects Egypt’s Vision 2030, in accordance with Article (5) of Law No. 160 of 2022 establishing the Authority.
