Launching of the First Training Programs at ETQAAN in the Field of Technical and Technological Education
he Egyptian TVET for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Technical, Technological Education and Vocational Training Authority (ETQAAN) has commenced the implementation of its first specialized training package in the technical and technological education sector at the beginning of February. The activities are still ongoing as part of ETQAAN’s plan to enhance the efficiency of technical cadres and strengthen their vocational competencies in line with ETQAAN’s national standards, which are aligned with international specifications and European Union standards.
The training programs are being held at ETQAAN’s headquarters. The training package extends over seven days and covers institutional accreditation, program accreditation, and the development of external reviewer skills. It is worth noting that the training sessions are delivered during both morning and evening periods, as well as on weekends, to accommodate the preferences and needs of all participants.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Moussa Emara, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the (ETQAAN), stated during his meeting with the participants that the training package reflects the Authority’s commitment to promote a culture of quality and raising awareness of the standards and indicators for accrediting technical and technological education programs and institutions. He further emphasized the importance of enhancing the capacities of technical education personnel to enable them to efficiently and professionally implement and fulfill quality assurance standards within their institutions, as well as to build qualified cadres capable of conducting review processes within those institutions. He affirmed that investing in human capital represents the cornerstone for achieving the desired development.
Prof. Dr. Emara added that ETQAAN seeks to continue implementing training packages on a regular and systematic basis, while also introducing additional specialized training packages for technological education and vocational training, in alignment with the Authority’s objectives, thereby contributing to improve performance levels and achieving competitiveness.
