ETQAAN Authority Enhances the Quality in Post-Secondary Technological Nursing Education: Intensive Training on Institutional and Program Accreditation Qualification
As part of the Egypt’s efforts to advance the quality of technical, technological education and vocational training, the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN), headed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emarah, organized a specialized training program in the post-secondary technological nursing education sector in cooperation with the– Specialized Medical Centers Secretariat at the Ministry of Health and Population. The program was held at El Salam Specialized Hospital – Cairo Governorate, from April 26 to April 30, 2026.
The program aimed to strengthen quality concepts in accordance with the latest standards approved by ETQAAN authority. The training covered both institutional and program accreditation (theory and practice), as well as assessment and quality assurance standards, monitoring mechanisms, and continuous improvement processes. This contributes to preparing qualified personnel capable of supporting nursing education institutions and programs in meeting the accreditation standards.
The training program included 32 trainees from educational leadership positions, as directors and faculty members representing 13 schools across 9 governorates, reflecting the broad scope of participation and the exchange of expertise at the national level.
In this context, Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of ETQAAN authority’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the Authority places supporting and developing technical, technological education and vocational training at the top of its priorities, particularly in vital specializations such as nursing. He noted that institutional and program accreditation constitute the cornerstone for ensuring the quality of educational outcomes in the nursing sector. Through these training programs, the Authority seeks to strengthen the capacities of educational personnel in line with approved standards, thereby contributing to graduating qualified technicians equipped with the competencies required to meet the demands of local, regional, and international labor markets through accredited programs and institutions. This, in turn, facilitates the internationalization of graduates in this sector, enhances their competitiveness in obtaining decent employment opportunities, positively impacts the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens, and supports Egypt’s sustainable development plans.
