Ministry of Labor and ETQAAN Authority Strengthen Partnership to develop the Quality of Vocational Training Programs and Centers in accordance with Quality Assurance and Accreditation Standards
With a clear implementation plan, the Minister of Labor and the Chairman of ETQAAN Authority discuss activating joint cooperation.
Minister of Labor: Developing an advanced vocational training system to prepare qualified personnel for national and international labor markets.
Chairman of ETQAAN Authority: Quality assurance and accreditation of vocational training are key drivers of competitiveness at both the national and international levels.
Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, welcomed Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN), as part of efforts to activate the cooperation protocol signed between the two parties and strengthen collaboration in improving and assuring the quality of vocational training programs and training centers.
During the meeting, the Minister of Labor emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to developing the vocational training system and ensuring the quality and accreditation of training programs offered to trainees. He noted that these efforts contribute to preparing qualified technical and vocational personnel capable of meeting labor market needs and supporting economic development requirements. He further stressed that quality assurance and accreditation have become essential components in developing vocational training centers and enhancing the effectiveness of their outcomes.
The Minister also directed the immediate launch of an implementation plan to activate cooperation through applying for the accreditation of a number of training centers affiliated to the Ministry as a first phase.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emarah reviewed the Authority’s efforts to support quality assurance and accreditation systems within educational and training institutions. He affirmed the Authority’s readiness to provide the necessary technical support to the Central Unit for Improving and Assuring the Quality of Vocational Training Programs and Centers at the Ministry of Labor, including capacity building, the development of assessment and following up systems, and the qualification of personnel responsible for applying quality assurance and accreditation standards.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry and the Authority, particularly in light of the Authority’s preparation of specialized training programs in quality assurance and accreditation, trainers and external reviewers preparation, and the development of following up and assessment systems. These efforts aim to enhance the quality of training services provided by the Ministry’s vocational training centers and ensure their readiness to apply for accreditation.
The meeting further addressed proposals for establishing and activating an integrated quality assurance system within vocational training centers in accordance with national standards aligned with international specifications and standards. Such efforts are expected to improve institutional performance, improve the quality of training outcomes, and enhance regional and international recognition of these outcomes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation during the coming period to support the Egypt’s efforts to develop the vocational training system, enhance human capability, and strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian workers in local, regional, and international labor markets.
