New European Recognition of ETQAAN Authority’s Achievements
European Training Foundation (ETF) has commended the achievements of the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN) during the ETF Forum for Quality Assurance in VET: Annual Meeting, held in the Netherlands on July (8–9), 2026, with the participation of representatives from 15 countries, including 11 European countries.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ETQAAN Authority, highlighted the Authority’s key achievements since its establishment and outlined the institutional development approach adopted by ETQAAN Authority, which included building its institutional framework, developing operational and sustainability plans, strengthening national and international cooperation, accelerating digital transformation, implementing training programs, disseminate the culture of quality and accreditation standards, enhancing the professional capacities of its staff, activating the accreditation system, and awarding accreditation certificates to a number of technical, technological, and vocational education and training institutions.
Participants commended the remarkable progress achieved by ETQAAN Authority within a quite short period, emphasizing that the Egyptian experience represents a promising model for advancing quality assurance and accreditation systems in line with international best practices and for enhancing the competitiveness of the TVET system.
At the end of the meeting, the European Training Foundation (ETF) reaffirmed its commitment towards technical support for ETQAAN Authority throughout 2026 and 2027, according to the Authority’s operational plan and in support of the mandates entrusted to it. This support forms part of the strategic partnership and institutional cooperation between the two parties and will contribute to the sustainable development of Egypt’s quality assurance and accreditation system while further aligning it with European standards and practices.
