ETQAAN Authority and the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company Explore Cooperation in Training and Qualifying Training Personnel and Enhancing the Readiness of Vocational Training Programs and Centers to Apply for Accreditation
As part of the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN)’s efforts to expand institutional partnerships across different sectors in Egypt and strengthen cooperation in training, with the aim of building capacity responsible for preparing programs and institutions to meet accreditation standards as well as obtain accreditation from ETQAAN Authority, a meeting was held at the Authority’s headquarters with a number of representatives of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and several of its affiliated companies to discuss areas of joint cooperation and mechanisms for implementing them during the upcoming period.
Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of ETQAAN Authority, welcomed Eng. Ashraf Hamed, Head of the Training Sector at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company; Eng. Alaa El-Din Hassan Mohamed, Head of the Training Sector at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company; Dr Fatma El-Zahraa Farouk, General Manager of Training at Middle Egypt Electricity Distribution Company; Eng. Mohamed Abdel Ghafour Mohamed, General Manager of the Training Center at the Hydropower Plants Company; Ms Manal Mostafa, Head of the Leaders Preparation Center Sector at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company; Dr Mohamed Farouk Rashid, Head of the Training Sector at South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company; Mr Ayman Hassan Ali, Head of Financial Affairs Sectors and Supervisor of the Training Sector at Middle Egypt Electricity Distribution Company; and Mr Mohamed Abdel Nabi El-Dawy, Accountant at the Training Sector of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr Ibrahim Fares, Vice President for Technical and Technological Education at ETQAAN Authority; Prof. Dr Ibrahim Lotfy, Vice President for Vocational Training at ETQAAN Authority; and Dr Eman El-Shafey, Director General of the Chairman’s Office.
The two sides discussed proposed areas of cooperation and mechanisms for their implementation in a manner that supports the quality assurance of the vocational training system in the electricity sector in accordance with accreditation standards, while enhancing the capacities of personnel responsible for preparing programs and centers to meet institutional and program accreditation standards and obtain accreditation from ETQAAN Authority.
Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of ETQAAN Authority, affirmed that the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company had participated, through its representatives, in the national committees responsible for developing the national accreditation standards and aligning them with relevant ISO standards, the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET), as well as the requirements and regulations for applying for accreditation.
