ETQAAN Authority Delegation Meets the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Quality Assurance and Accreditation Field of Al-Azhar Technical Education
part of efforts to strengthen institutional cooperation between the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority (ETQAAN) and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, welcomed Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of ETQAAN Authority, and the accompanying delegation at the headquarters of Al-Azhar Sheikhdom.
The visit comes in light of ETQAAN Authority’s mandate to accredit Al-Azhar technical institutes and its role in assuring the quality of technical and technological education and vocational training institutions and programs, as well as enhancing the quality of their outcomes in accordance with the Authority’s approved standards, which are aligned with international quality assurance and accreditation standards and specifications.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation between ETQAAN Authority and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in the field of quality assurance and accreditation of Al-Azhar technical institutes, as well as mechanisms for applying quality assurance and accreditation standards in support of efforts to develop Al-Azhar technical education. The meeting also highlighted the importance of fostering the culture of quality and continuous improvement within Al-Azhar technical education institutions, contributing to develop institutional and educational performance, improve quality of outcomes, and to meet the needs of students, society, and the labor market, as part of ongoing efforts to advance the quality of Egypt’s TVET system.
Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah expressed his sincere appreciation to His Eminence the Grand Imam for the warm reception extended to him and the accompanying delegation, affirming ETQAAN Authority’s commitment to ongoing cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in ways that serve students and society and support efforts to develop Al-Azhar technical education in accordance with national standards and international quality assurance and accreditation frameworks.
The meeting was attended, from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, by Sheikh Ayman Abdel Ghany, Deputy of Al-Azhar, and Prof. Dr Ahmed El-Sharqawy, Head of the Al-Azhar Institutes Sector. From ETQAAN Authority, the attendees included Prof. Dr Ibrahim Fares, Vice President for Technical and Technological Education; Prof. Dr Ibrahim Lotfy, Vice President for Vocational Training; and Dr Eman Ibrahim, Director of the Office of the Chairman.
