Statement Issued by the Egyptian TVET Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority
Head of the State Information Service Meets with Chairman of ETQAAN Authority to Discuss Cooperation in Promoting ETQAAN’s Role and Achievements in Assuring the Quality of TVET system
mbassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Information Service (SIS), met with Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of (ETQAAN) Authority, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in promoting awareness of the Authority’s mandate and achievements, disseminating the culture of quality and accreditation, as well as leveraging the facilities of the State Information Service with its media centers to support these efforts.
Ambassador Alaa Youssef highlighted the importance of promoting awareness of ETQAAN Authority’s national role in assuring the quality and accreditation of institutions and programs in TVET. He expressed the State Information Service’s readiness to cooperate in preparing and disseminating informational materials in foreign languages on ETQAAN Authority’s efforts to establish a national quality assurance and accreditation system, as well as highlighting these efforts to foreign media outlets and international reporters in Egypt, thereby strengthening the Authority’s presence at both the regional and international levels.
For his part, Prof. Dr Mohamed Mousa Emarah outlined ETQAAN Authority’s key efforts since its establishment, foremost among them the development and launch of the National Accreditation Standards for TVET Institutions and Programs, which are aligned with international standards and specifications. He also highlighted the establishment of accreditation application requirements and procedures as well as the development of a national framework for quality indicators for the TVET system.
He further reviewed the Authority’s efforts to promote a culture of quality and accreditation besides enhancing the capacity of educational and training institutions to implement quality systems and continuous improvement. He noted that ETQAAN Authority has accredited a number of technical education and vocational training programs and institutions, stressing the importance of cooperation with the State Information Service in promoting awareness of ETQAAN Authority’s mandate and highlighting its achievements in quality assurance and accreditation.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr Ibrahim Fares and Prof. Dr Ibrahim Lotfy, Vice Presidents of ETQAAN Authority.
